A nice, sophisticated type of logo for your brand is a monogram. Continue reading to see how to make a monogram and what it is exactly.
What is a monogram?
A monogram is a logo made out of just two or three letters, usually the initials of your shop’s name.
There are many different ways you can design a monogram, with a variety of fonts and accompanying drawings or scribbles.

The easiest way to make a monogram is using the Cricut Design Space app on your computer. In the latest version of this software, you can simply find this type of logo in the default templates.
If you have a free account, you will be able to see and design your own logo, but you won’t be able to print and cut it.
If you want to make the whole process, you will need to pay for the Cricut Access membership, or at least activate the one-month free trial.
What are the monogram fonts for Cricut Design Space you can find?
There are several different designs you can find in this tab. For example, you can use the “vintage” or the “modern” style, in the Classic tab.
You can also see a Theme tab containing designs that not only include nice fonts but also drawings like black and white or colored flowers.

Making a Cricut monogram is the easiest way to get one, but if you don’t find any design you like in the software, you can always make your own.

You can even use the Phonto mobile app, which is very easy to use and contains hundreds of fonts you can choose from and toggle to make your logo just the way you like it.

Only remember to keep some things in mind when choosing the design:
- Use a font that is wide enough for cutting,
- Use good quality vinyl or sticker paper,
- Find good resolution images.
If you don’t follow the previous indications, the cut won’t be so neat, and the weaving process can be a headache.
This is specially in case you are making a design with fonts you found on the internet and images you simply downloaded from Google. These images can be pixelated when zoomed into the right size, and that won’t give you good results.
That’s why we recommend using apps that already contain high quality vectors for both images and fonts.
Design your own Cricut monogram
Whenever you are creating any new graphic piece, you can stick to the new platforms and software, but you can always get back to the good old pencil!
Sometimes, inspiration is not so easy to find in virtual environments, as you get stuck into the options that you are offered or those designs you can find on the internet. That’s when grabbing a piece of paper and a pencil can come in handy.
Working with real tools can many times trigger inspiration, as we are not only working with our eyes and brains but also with our hands.
Grab a sheet of paper and start drawing as many options as you can think of. You can set the rule of not giving up on any design until they are finished.
When creating, we often start working on a piece that we don’t feel so happy about. But there is a phrase in the crafting world that can help us get through this: “Trust the process”
And this is no exception with monograms.
Trusting the process means that maybe you don’t like what you are creating while you are at it, but as you go further into it, there are several outcomes you can encounter:
You may find different things you can change or adapt to make the design suit your likes and needs; sometimes, you may not like the design as soon as it is finished but you end up liking it a few days later; or maybe you don’t like the design at all, but you can find inspiration of what you could have done better for your next attempt.
Write your initials at the top of the paper and let imagination take over the process! It might take more than one session to finish the process and come out with something that represents your brand enough.
Once you have it, go into your device and reproduce your design as close to the original as possible, with whichever software provides you with the most suitable tools and effects, and later import it to the Design Space app to have it cut.
And that’s it! Now you have your ideal Cricut monogram for identifying your products from any other and making your business shine among the rest!
