Make your own wedding invitations!
To learn how to make invitation on Cricut, you will need some materials such as:
- Cricut Machine
- Cricut Design Space or a wedding invitation template
- Paper of your choice for the invitation (between 65 to 80 pounds)
- Printing machine
To make your wedding invitations you can use an invitation template and customize it with your data or you can create a unique design from scratch.
How to make invitation on Cricut?
Step 1
Submit your invitation template or ready design to Cricut.
If you are using a template, unzip and upload the SVG file to Cricut Design Space. This is the time to edit your invitation and make any size adjustments if necessary.
When you are done designing, select all the layers and click “Flatten”, this way all the elements will be compressed into a single layer. If you skip this step, your machine will start trimming each individual item.
Step 2
Be sure to set up your material before printing and cutting. For this, I recommend using 65 to 80 pound double-sided paper, it can be plain or patterned.
Once the design is finished and ready to print, in Design Space click on “Make It”, to send your invitations to the printer or download the image in PDF format to print it out of your home. Select the number of copies needed.
Step 3
Once you’ve finished printing your invitations, place one sheet at a time on your Cricut Mat.
Keep in mind that Cricut has to cut invitations one at a time, so creating enough cards for a long guest list will take a long time. Do it with time and patience!
Check the quality of the cuts on your invitations. If the edges start to look rough, replace the blade to keep your cards looking professional.
When you remove your invitation from the mat, wipe the mat clean as any residue can spoil the next cut.
Step 4
You’re almost done, all you have to do is assemble the invitations with the design you’ve chosen. Fold an edge, place a decorative ribbon or include a photo of the couple.
