Why is it important to have business cards?
If you are not convinced about making your own business cards, here we will talk a little about its importance and professionalism.
Business cards are a personal marketing tool that contain the main contact details of us or our business and are delivered to those who may be interested in our contact.
Business cards help enhance your professional image and leave a lasting impression. Also, being small you can take several with you wherever you go. You should always have one on hand at any event or meeting you attend.
Also, by having your contact information on hand on business cards, people can share your phone number or website when recommending your service.
Tips for Making Cricut Business Cards

- Use simple, easy-to-read fonts.
- As for the size and shape, keep in mind that it should fit in your wallet easily. The ideal size is 3.5″x2″.
- To find ideas, you can look for inspiration on different websites, such as Google, Pinterest, Freepik, Canva, among others.

How to make business cards with Cricut
Keeping the tips above in mind and once you have your design in mind, it’s time to start the tutorial.
Step 1
To design your business card you can use Cricut Design Space as it is a very easy to use design program.
First, click on the “Shapes” icon on the left panel and drop a square on the canvas area. Next, click on it, and on the top menu, unlock the proportions and resize the card. The standard size for a business card is 3.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall.
Once you resize, change the color of the card by click on the color box on the top menu.
Once you have the size, shape, and background color, it’s time to add details like text, a logo if you have one, and any additional shapes you want to add.
Do not limit yourself! Experiment with all the resources and colors you want until you have your final design that you are satisfied with.
When you are done designing, select all the layers and click “Flatten”, this way all the elements will be compressed into a single layer.
Step 2
It’s time to print your business cards.
If you don’t have a printer, don’t worry because you can save your design as a PDF and print it out from home.
But if you do it yourself, make sure when you print your business cards that your printer has the correct settings and the right card stock for your cards.
Step 3
Once your Cricut business cards have been printed, place your cardstock on your Cricut mat, and then use your Cricut machine to cut your business cards.
First, your Cricut will start reading the black frame of the project, and once it’s done, it will cut your business cards.
When your machine has finished cutting, remove the mat and release your business cards.
Step 4
This step is more of an alternative to the layout. To make your cards, you can also upload a template or card design you’ve made on a website other than Cricut Design Space.
To do this, click the “Upload” icon, then “Upload Image” and upload your template to customize or the finished design. If you have to customize your template, continue uploading the images you need and adding the text.
Don’t forget to “flatten” before printing the design.
